Our ‘mini police cadets’ had an interesting time at Margate police station this afternoon. They had the chance to see many areas of the police station and explore the work of different staff members from Kent Police. The children chose to lock Mrs Sherwin in the police van first and happily let her get handcuffed. More photos will follow of the children once we receive them 👮 👮♀️

This week we are learning to sign 'Good morning'. As part of Mental Health Week (12-18 May), Spurgeons are excited to be launching “Ask a Counsellor” again - offering a free 20-minute digital chat with one of their qualified counsellors. Last term, Curie class had a wonderful time at Royal Harbour Academy in Ramsgate. Royal Harbour welcomed us into their cooking rooms and helped the children to make a healthy meal. It was lovely for the children to have the opportunity to cook independently and develop their cookery skills.

🌿The Pollinator Fair (Thursday, 10th April, 12-3pm) is just around the corner.🌿 🐝This Spring Windmill Community Gardens will be celebrating all things pollinators, and it's set to be a fun and educational day for the whole community! What can you expect on the day? 🦋Proud Pollinator Planter session being run by Steph 🐞Pollinator Friendly Gardening workshop run by Lauren 🌸Hot drinks, cakes, soup, lemonade to purchase 🌼Fun interactive crafting activities 🌷Tombola 🪻Foraging walks by Helen 🌹Market and plant stalls 🌿Easter Holiday Fun 🌿 Windmill Community Gardens also have a jam packed few weeks of activities for all ages during this Easter Holidays, all our workshops have Free or pay what you can places available.

😞 Hopefully you will have noticed some of our new no parking signs. Sadly, a parent has run over one of these signs in their car - a stark reminder of why they are there - to protect a child's life. Please, please, please do not park on paths , zigzags or double yellow lines. Please use one of the many side roads. 😟

Last week our girls took part in the annual TKAT football league at Newlands Primary School. They competed against other schools in our region, hoping for qualification to the 'Finals Day' held at Leyton Orient. With a record of 2 wins and a draw, the Dame Janet team came second overall. A fantastic result. 🥳
